Spring 2020 Events

In an effort to keep all of us safe and to love our neighbors, PCM in-person programming has been halted until further notice. Bible study, Book Group, and online fellowship activities are continuing via Zoom.  Please contact Chaplain Taryn Mattice (protestant_coop@cornell.edu) for more information.

The PCM office, and all of Anabel Taylor Hall, are closed while the university considers possibilities for the resumption of campus activities.  Email Taryn if you are a current student and not already on our e-list.  We want to stay in touch!

Resources for Lent…

If you don’t have a regular practice of prayer, Lent is a good time to try. There are a number of online resources to help you – consider these:

D365.org – A scripture reading, a brief quote and a prayer.  This was created especially with students in mind, and jointly provided by the Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Cooperative Baptist denominations. A free app is available.

The Still Speaking Daily Devotional – is a resource provided by the United Church of Christ. There are a variety of authors, and you’ll soon find your favorites. You can sample recent days before you sign up to subscribe. (Scroll down. No charge.)

Pray as You Go is an offering by the Jesuits, a Roman Catholic order, based on a model for prayer inspired by Ignatius of Loyola, a 15th century priest and theologian. The Spanish priest created this model for prayer and self-reflection that has been used by Catholics and Protestants for centuries. The app offers music, a reading, and a question to ponder. This one might take you the longest of the three– one day’s offering might last about 10 minutes.
